OBeidy & Associates, P.A. focuses primarily on labor and employment law, including claims dealing with discrimination, harassment, retaliation, overtime, contracts, tort claims, labor disputes and certain employment-based immigration. In addition, the firm handles matters dealing with corporate law including business formation, and certain instances of immigration including family-based petitions.
A. Andrew Obeidy, Esq.
Originally from Montreal, Canada, Mr. OBeidy received a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from University of Virginia and a Juris Doctor from Howard University School of Law. After graduation, Mr. OBeidy served in Her Majesty's Royal Canadian Air Force in Canada.
In 2010, Mr. OBeidy founded OBeidy & Associates, P.A. Mr. OBeidy previously served as the Southern District Area Representative for the National Employment Lawyers Association (Florida Chapter). Mr. OBeidy is an active member of Florida NELA, National Employment Lawyer's Association, the Florida Bar and the California Bar. Mr. OBeidy has experience in the Florida state courts, the Supreme Court of Florida and the United States District Court for the Southern District of Florida and the state of California. Mr. OBeidy lectures on labor and employment topics and the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC) refers cases to him.
Candice L. Michael, Esq.
Candice L. Michael, Esq. is a licensed Florida marital and family law attorney who has successfully advocated for hundreds of clients in divorce, guardian advocacy, relative adoption, paternity, custody and child support matters. Candice obtained her Bachelor of Arts in Criminology with honors from the University of Florida in 2009, a Juris Doctor from Howard University School of Law in 2014 and was admitted to practice law in the State of Florida that same year. Prior to joining Obeidy & Associates, Candice was a Judicial Law Clerk in the Superior Court of the Virgin Islands and a litigation attorney for both Florida Rural Legal Services and Legal Services of Greater Miami. Outside of practicing law, Candice is an active committee member of The Florida Bar Family Law Section, the Gwen S. Cherry Black Woman Lawyer’s Association, and serves on the Executive Board of the Turner Tech Alumni Association in Miami.
Originally from New Jersey, Lexi received a Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) with a concentration in Legal Studies from Roanoke College. Lexi also studied International Human Rights Law at Vrije Universiteit in Amsterdam. After graduation, Lexi served in AmeriCorps in the city of Paterson, New Jersey. After relocating to Florida, Lexi joined Obeidy & Associates in 2017. Lexi is currently enrolled at NSU’s Shepard Broad College of Law where she attends night classes while working full-time for our firm. Lexi is expected to matriculate in 2022, and hopes to specialize in adoption law.
